First measurable snowfall came especially late

It took a while to get here but here it is, our first measurable, .10" or more, of snow in the metro. Last year we got our first measurable snow on November 10. The latest we had to wait was December 3rd, back in 1928. As of 6 pm at the official recording station at the Twin Cities International Airport was 1.3", definitely past the .01" criteria.

Here is the final list of latest "First .10"" snowfalls in the Twin Cities up to todays date.

(1) December 3, 1928        1.4"

(2) December 2, 1963        1.4"

(3) November 30, 1907      0.3"

(4) November 28, 1918      0.5"

(5) November 27, 2004      0.5"

      November 27, 1994      4.8"

(6) November 26, 1934      .05"

      November 26, 1973      0.1"

      November 26, 2015    1.3"

If you count the latest dates, then November 26th is in a 3 way tie for the 6th latest date or our first .10 of accumulating snow.
