It's hot and steamy ahead of late day storms on Wednesday. A heat advisory is in effect from noon until 8 p.m. for the Twin Cities and southern Minnesota, as the heat index is expected to reach near 100 degrees.

It'll be a hot, humid day on Tuesday. Expect morning storms in northern Minnesota on Tuesday, with a chance of scattered showers in southern Minnesota Tuesday afternoon. There's a better chance for stormy weather on Wednesday across the state.
