The Minnesota Frost repeated as PWHL champions with a 2-1 win over Ottawa Monday night at Xcel Energy Center. As Minnesota Lynx forward Alissa Pili goes into her second year in the WNBA, she said she?s grown as a player after putting in work in the off season. Pili is the first Polynesian player in the WNBA and said her love for her culture is a big motivation for her to keep improving on the court.

In 1987, as the Minnesota Timberwolves were preparing for their inaugural season, Mark Thompson, a budding graphic designer from Austin, Minnesota, read about a competition this new team was having to select their first logo. Mark sent in three design options. The team received a total of about 2,500 submissions but selected one of Mark?s designs. That logo became the Timberwolves? logo for their inaugural 1989-90 season. The logo is still used on merchandise and by the franchise and has been cemented into sports history.
