The Minnesota Vikings took a break from their work to teach some football skills to the next generation.

The team, including quarterback Kirk Cousins, visited Friendly Hills Middle School in Mendota Heights as part of the Vikings’ “Team Up to Give Back” volunteer event.

Students learned how to catch passes from Cousins and went through various other drills with Vikings players.

“This league provides a great opportunity to be about and promote whatever we want to be about and any time we can give back and put a smile on someone’s face and brighten their day, shine a light, it’s a great opportunity,” said Cousins. “We try to take advantage of that whenever we can.”
