Covington, Šarić, Bayless join Minnesota Timberwolves in Butler trade
MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) - It's been a tumultuous few months to say the least for the Minnesota Timberwolves, but now the team is finally getting a fresh start.
Tuesday afternoon, the team welcomed the newest members of their pack. Robert Covington, Dario Šarić and Jerryd Bayless were introduced at a press conference. They are the three players the Wolves acquired from the Philadelphia 76ers along with a second round pick in exchange for disgruntled star Jimmy Butler.
The new Wolves say they're looking forward to getting to work.
“I cannot wait to step on the court, play, give 100 percent in every moment, each second of the game,” said Šarić, Timberwolves forward.
“I'm looking for an opportunity and I'm thankful for it,” said Covington, Timberwolves forward. “Things could be a lot different, but I'm blessed to be here with this organization and I'm ready to come, step on the court and give my all.”
While Bayless will be rehabbing an injury, Covington and Saric are expected to join the Wolves on the court this week.
