Andrew Wiggins signs multi-year contract with Timberwolves
MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) - The Minnesota Timberwolves announced Wednesday they have signed forward Andrew Wiggins to a multi-year contract extension.
Wiggins, 22, was selected first overall in the 2014 NBA draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers, but was traded to the Timberwolves before the start of the 2014-15 season.
Wiggins recorded a career high 23.6 points, 4.0 rebounds,2.3 assists and 37.2 minutes in 82 games last season. In his career, Wiggins has averaged 20.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 36.2 minutes per game. He is sixth on the Timberwolves all-time scoring list with 4,995 career points.
“We feel strongly he is just scratching the surface of the player he will become,” Head Coach Tom Thibodeau said of deal.
Terms of the contract agreement were not released.
