Two significantly injured in three-car crash in Bloomington

Two people have "significant injuries" after a three-car crash in Bloomington, according to Bloomington police.

Deputy Chief Mike Hartley says the crash happened around 8:30 p.m. on 9700 block of Penn Ave South.

There were two cars heading southbound. One car was having issues and stopped. The second car pulled around in front of the car to face it.

A third car then hit the back of the first car, pushing it onto the other vehicle.

Police believe two people were standing between the cars during the collision. They received suffered significant injuries to their lower bodies and were taken to Hennepin County Medical Center.

Their conditions are unknown, but they were conscious when crews arrived.

The crash is still under investigation.
