Train slams into car in Coon Rapids after driver takes wrong turn

COON RAPIDS, Minn. (KMSP) - A train smashed into car in Coon Rapids after the driver accidentally drove on the tracks, according to Coon Rapids police.

Officers responded to the crash around 5:30 p.m. near the 1400 block of Egret Boulevard NW.

Police say a confused driver turned onto the track, thinking it was a road. When she saw the train coming, she got out the car and the train slammed into it. No one was injured.

After about 45 minutes the Northstar train was running again. Some people took replacement buses.
