St. Paul City Council votes to condem Donald Trump's anti-immigrant rhetoric

The St. Paul City Council voted Wednesday to condemn the anti-Muslim, anti-refugee and anti-immigrant speech from Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

Council members passed a resolution says Trump’s rhetoric on the campaign trail conflicts with the values of St. Paul and does “harm to [the] community by inciting and encouraging fear and racism.”

Under the approved resolution, Trump is still considered welcome in the city.

The city council passed the resolution by a 6-1 vote, according to the Star Tribune.
