PLYMOUTH, Minn. (FOX 9) - A pedestrian is dead after they were struck by a pickup truck on westbound Highway 55 in Plymouth, Minnesota early Friday morning.
The crash occurred around 4:22 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 55 and County Road 6, Plymouth Police Department Sgt. Kevin Wilson said.
According to Minnesota State Patrol, a pedestrian was crossing Highway 55 outside the crosswalk when the driver of a Dodge Dakota pickup truck struck them.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. They have not been identified.
The driver of the pickup was not injured, but they were shaken up, Wilson said.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation closed westbound Highway 55 for several hours following the crash.
The Minnesota State Patrol is handling the investigation, with the Plymouth Police Department assisting.
