Montrose teen dies after being dragged by truck

MONTROSE, Minn. (KMSP) - The Wright County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of an 18-year-old Montrose teen, who was found unconscious in a road.

Sheriff Joe Haggerty says at about 2:28 a.m. on Sunday, officers responded to a call of a man lying in the road at the 500 block of 1st Street North in Montrose.

Police identified the young man as Justin Harvey, who was taken to a hospital where he later died of his injuries.

According to preliminary investigation, officials believe Harvey approached a pickup truck parked on the road and got into a confrontation with the passenger. The truck accelerated during the confrontation between the two people and dragged Harvey a short distance.

Two adults were arrested and taken into custody at the Wright County Jail on charges of criminal vehicular operations and simple robbery.
