Community members are gathering to help a horse boarding facility in Monticello, Minnesota, after a devastating fire early Sunday morning.

Bit Of Heaven Stables reports that five horses died and about 12 more were left displaced, in desperate need of hay. Two dogs and several cats also died in the fire.

Local barns stepped up to help house the horses, and the community also set up a Pay Pal account for the owners as they work to restore the facility. Donations can be made to Repribyl@yahoo.com.

Fleet Farm also donated new equipment for the horses.
