Lawrenceville boys look for soldier who gave them his patches
LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - The search is on! Mister Jadyn and his brother have the biggest “thank you” to give to the soldier who gave them the neatest treat—patches straight off his uniform. It’s a story that will make you want to spread the word and help find this incredible soldier for these two sweeties!
Jadyn, his younger brother Gregory, and his mother were at a Walmart in Lawrenceville on January 26 when the 6-year-old saw a soldier in uniform. Jadyn wanted to thank him for what he does for our country so he walked over and did just that. The soldier, without thinking twice, took two patches off his uniform and handed them to Jadyn and his brother. Can you imagine the looks on the little boys' faces?!
All three thanked the officer “a thousand times” and were blown away by his kindness and thoughtfulness. The boys’ mother, Destiny, was able to narrow down the infantry by searching his patches online. She says she believes he is part of the 48th Infantry Brigade Combat Team. They are based out of Macon, but there are a few other stations throughout the state.
Now, all Jadyn and Gregory want to do is find this amazing soldier and thank him properly by sending a card! Let's help them out!
Jadyn tells FOX 5:
"I saw a soldier at Walmart. I wanted to say thank you, because he fights for our freedom. When I told him thank you he gave me and my baby bother patches from his army uniform. It made me feel very good, because it made me feel special. I want to find him so we can make him a thank you note and know his name. He's my hero. Thank you for trying to help my mommy and me find him."
Jadyn’s mother, Destiny, tells FOX 5:
"This whole experience has been overwhelming. With all the negative in the world, it's wonderful to see something so sweet happen, even if it was something as small as a sweet soldier giving my sons his patches. It is something they will remember for a lifetime. The look on Jadyn's face was pure joy and excitement. He was so excited to receive something so special! My boys, as well as myself, will treasure them forever. We are planning on framing them for the boys’ room!"
It's time to get the word out and track this soldier down. We can all tell him "thank you" for doing such a wonderful deed!
