ROSEAU, Minn. (KMSP) - A curious black bear in northern Minnesota found one milk jug that fit just right - so much so, it soon found itself in an unbearable situation.
Last week northwest of Roseau, a 150-pound male black managed to get its head stuck in an old-fashioned 10-gallon milk jug.
A DNR conservation officer and others first drilled holes in the jug so the bear could breathe. The group then applied cooking oil to try to ease the jug off.
Despite their efforts, the jug still wouldn't budge.
It wasn't until the Roseau Fire Department brought in some special equipment did the jug finally come loose, freeing the bear.
