The Barron County sheriff's office seized 300 marijuana plants Thursday morning in Comstock, Wisconsin.

Authorities obtained a warrant after a month-long investigation into a possible marijuana growing operation at a barn on the 400 block of 19th Avenue.

According to a release, when they searched the barn, they found more than 300 plants in a "very sophisticated growing operation."

Officers also discovered two monkeys, but did not seize them. According to Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald, the monkeys had nothing to do with the case.

A 37-year-old man was taken into custody and faces charges of manufacturing marijuana.
