3 injured in Friday afternoon shooting in Mpls

Three men were injured in a Friday afternoon shooting in Minneapolis, according to Minneapolis police.

MPD spokesman Corey Schmidt says an officer heard shots fired around 3 p.m. near 24th Street East and 10th Avenue S in Minneapolis.

When the officer arrived, witnesses pointed out the suspect’s vehicle and the officer was able to stop the suspect and arrest him. The man is in custody, booked on suspicion of felony assault.

Two injured men were taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, another man walked to Children’s after being treated at the scene for a graze wound. All the victims received non-life threatening injuries.

Police recovered two guns near the scene.

Schmidt said the witnesses' information was key to the case and police are "thankful" they spoke up and pointed out the suspect’s vehicle.

The case is still under investigation
