2 dead in Blakeley Township, Minn. after striking power pole with snowmobile

BLAKELEY TOWNSHIP, Minn. (FOX 9) - A man and a woman died after their snowmobile collided with a power pole in Blakeley Township Sunday afternoon.

According to the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, just before 4:30 p.m. the riders were traveling eastbound on a marked trail in the north road right-of-way on 280th Street West near Lehnert Lane. They were riding a black Ski-Doo when they hit the power pole.

The victims have been identified as 42-year-old Jeremy Pumper of Le Sueur and 33-year-old Crystal Jo Olson of Le Sueur.

It is unknown if the driver of the snowmobile was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
