Eighteen people were arrested Tuesday morning for blocking the light rail tracks at Fort Snelling during a protest against deportations.

Protesters with the Poor People’s Campaign were calling for and end to deportations and the abolishment of Immigrations and Customs Enforcement. Some protesters sat on the tracks to block the trains.

Metro Transit Police eventually arrested 18 people. The demonstration wrapped up shortly before 10:30 a.m.

Buses replaced Blue Line trains between 46th Street and Terminal 2 stations and a shuttle train is available between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, according to Metro Transit. Service is resuming, but delays are expected.
