1 driver dead, 1 injured in suspected drunk driving crash in St. Paul, Minn.

One driver was killed and another was injured in a suspected drunk-driving crash in St. Paul, Minnesota early Wednesday morning.

The crash occurred around 1:30 a.m. near the intersection of Concord Street and Page Street. A 19-year-old man driving a Honda Accord southeast on Concord Street struck a man driving a Saturn as they pulled out of a driveway on Page Street, according to St. Paul Police Department spokesperson Mike Ernster.

When officers arrived, they found the driver of the Saturn trapped inside his vehicle. Paramedics freed the driver and began to treat him for his injuries, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Honda Accord was transported to Regions Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police believe alcohol was a factor in the crash. After the 19-year-old driver is treated for his injuries, he will likely be booked into the Ramsey County Jail for criminal vehicular operation, Ernster said.

The crash remains under investigation.
