SPRING SNOWSTORM: What to expect, when to expect it

Image 1 of 3

A powerful spring storm will track northeast out of the plains and across Minnesota and Wisconsin on Wednesday into Wednesday night.

Winter Weather Advisory: Central and immediate south metro to points west

Winter Storm Warning: Far south metro and southern Minnesota, central Wisconsin

What to expect

Wet snow for some, but cold and windy for all.

Snow moves across the area today, with most staying along and south of the I-94 corridor. We'll see less than an inch for the far north metro to 4 to 5 inches for the south metro. There will be generally 6 to 12 inches possible in the Winter Storm Warning zone.

Winds will gust between 20-30 miles per hour and will make our already chilly highs in the 30s feel like the colder 20s all day.

No travel advisory

The Minnesota State Patrol has issued a no travel advisory in Blue Earth, Brown, Cottonwood, Faribault, Jackson, Martin, Nobles, Rock, Watonwan and Waseca counties.
