Record highs set in Minnesota

Strong sunshine and a good southwesterly flow help push mild air all the way into Minnesota. The last time we have seen temps in the mid fifties on February 27th, was a hundred and twenty years ago in 1896. On Saturday, we saw the mercury blow past the mid fifties and into the upper 50s and even the 60s for parts of Minnesota. Upper fifties, the normal temperature for the 2nd half of April, popped up all over the metro. The last time the Twin Cities saw temperatures this warm was back on November 18, 2015.
