Minnesota weather: Snowflakes exit by lunch for a cloudy, cooler Monday
MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - Overnight snow will exit for a cloudy and chilly day on Monday.
Snow in Minnesota on Monday
What to expect:
There is a belt of winter weather advisories stretching from the Dakotas, through central Minnesota, into central Wisconsin. The advisories are in effect from Sunday night until Monday at noon.
The snow is making some slick road conditions during Monday morning’s commute. There are also a few schools that are opening late on Monday morning due to the snow. You can find a list here.
The snow is expected to wrap up in the late morning, and while there won't be a major snowfall, those on the northern side of the metro will see around an inch or 2 of snow. For the south metro, the snowfall will be lighter with only a thicker coating. Regions just north of the metro could see around 2–4 inches of snow.
Once the snow clears, the clouds will linger for an overcast and chilly day on Monday. The Twin Cities metro daytime high is 25 degrees, though winds at 10-15 mph could make it feel in the single digits. Northern Minnesota will see much cooler temperatures in the teens and single digits.
Temperatures will fall overnight with subzero lows across much of Minnesota, although the metro will likely stay slightly above zero.

More chances for snow
What's next:
Tuesday begins with patchy sunshine and much colder temperatures. The afternoon will remain fairly cloudy, with temperatures staying below average in the teens across central Minnesota and single digits in northern regions.
By Wednesday, temperatures will warm back into the 20s, with some evening and overnight snowflakes possible. The end of the workweek looks chilly but quiet before another chance for snow arrives for the weekend.
