Malls tend to be dominated by chain stores while boutiques stick with neighborhood storefronts. Three independent women’s shops are bucking that trend, by opening at the malls. 

Kisa: Specializing in small batch European women’s fashion and jewelry. Now open at Ridgedale Center. Grand opening party today, 5 to 8 p.m.

MINQ: The contemporary women’s boutique is relocating from Shops at West End, offering trend-right women’s apparel and accessories from lines you don’t see elsewhere in town. Opening Friday.

Primrose Park: Leaving Northeast Minneapolis for two new stores opening soon at Shops at West End and Tamarack Hills in Woodbury. Last chance to shop the Minneapolis store at 20 University Ave. N.E. is Friday, with 20 percent off all regular priced merchandise from 6 to 9 p.m.
