Recipe: Spiced walnuts

Vincent A's Spiced Walnuts

8 oz. Walnuts, toasted

1 cup Sugar

1 cup Water

½ tsp. Salt

½ tsp. Chinese 5-Spice

½ tsp. Chili Powder

? tsp. Cayenne Pepper

1 tsp. Chopped Fresh Rosemary Leaves


Mix all of the spices and chopped rosemary together in a medium bowl.  Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Mix the water and sugar in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil.  Add the toasted walnut and steep for 5 minutes.  Drain well.

Add the walnuts to the spice mix and toss well.  Shake off extra spice mix from the walnuts.  Spread the spice-coated walnuts on a baking sheet and bake until golden brown.
