St. Paul?s Caf? Astoria is known for its over-the-top lattes including rainbow foam art, real gold flakes and fresh toasted marshmallows. But their newest creation is out-of-this world and Instagram is loving it. The Baby Yoda latte is almost too cute to drink featuring the infant alien sporting a Santa hat. The meringue?s are hand-made and peppermint flavored, while the rim of the decadent drink is dipped in chocolate and graham crackers. Caf? Astoria is located at 180 Grand Avenue. They just opened a second location in St. Paul called Side Hustle at 1124 Payne Ave.

The Cathedral of St. Paul will be the canvas for a large-scale light show

Tonight is the United States debut of a very unique light show that?s gained a following in Europe. Murals depicting the Christmas story will be projected on to the front of the Cathedral of St. Paul and set to music. ?Cathedral Illuminated: The Manger? runs 12 minutes and will be shown on a continuous loop from 6 to 9 p.m., Dec. 17 - 19, 2020. It?ll play on the eastern side of the Cathedral. Officers from the Saint Paul Police Department will direct traffic one-way heading north along Summit Avenue and allow vehicles to stop temporarily in front of the Cathedral to watch the show. Spectators must remain in their vehicles at all times. If you can?t make it to the show, it will be live streamed on the Cathedral Heritage Foundation?s Facebook page from 6 to 7:30pm, Dec. 17 ? 19th.

But with COVID-19 restrictions in place, there won’t be any in-person visits with Old St. Nick. Still, malls are finding ways to keep the tradition alive, online. The Mall of America constructed the Candy Cane Institute, an interactive virtual experience that starts with a tour of the elves workshop and ends with a Santa visit. The cost for the 10-minute virtual holiday experience is $20 and it runs through December 24.

Brother Justus Whiskey Company tapped in to Minnesota?s natural resources to bring the flavors of the North to their products. Founder and Owner, Phil Steger said the plan was to open their spacious location the week before Thanksgiving, but that?s the same week Governor Walz announced the four-week closure of bars and restaurants. Until they can open to the public they?re offering delivery and curbside pickup. And this week Steger expects their whiskey to arrive in Minnesota Liquor stores.
