The Minnesota Wild announced defenseman Ryan Suter will be out the rest of the season.

Suter will need surgery to fix his fractured right ankle.

The All-Star suffered the injury Saturday night against the Dallas Stars.

The loss comes at a tough time for the Wild as the team is making its final playoffs push with only three games left in the regular season after Monday night's game.

Suter has the most ice time of any player on the Wild and also recorded a career-best 45 assists this season.
