Vikings, Medtronic announce 10-year plaza naming rights

The Minnesota Vikings and Medtronic announced a 10-year partnership on Monday including “Medtronic Plaza,” a three-acre gateway between downtown Minneapolis and U.S. Bank Stadium, and a “Medtronic Club” inside the new stadium.

Medtronic Plaza will provide a place for people to meet and celebrate before and after games, concerts and events throughout the year. It’ll be located adjacent to the 5 pivoting glass doors on U.S. Bank Stadium’s west side.

“The nearly three-acre programmable space will offer a new and vastly improved pregame experience for our fans and all U.S. Bank Stadium users,” Vikings Owner/President Mark Wilf said.

The partnership also includes a joint community service program -- the plaza will be used to support local community initiatives and events that advance health and wellness in the Twin Cities.

“Medtronic was born and raised in Minnesota, and we are proud to be sponsoring this great new community asset for the Twin Cities,” Medtronic’s Vice President of Corporate Communications and Corporate Marketing Rob Clark said.
