Perkins’ annual “Fish with the Kids” is part of Twins Hope Week; Joe Mauer, Brian Dozier and other teammates have spent the week volunteering at events and clinics for kids to learn how to play baseball, or just get a break from their daily life at the hospital.

Perkins hosted kids from Athletes Committed to Education (ACES), which  provides after-school programing to Minnesota middle school students who could be at risk of falling further behind and failing out of school.

No word yet on whether or not Perkins reeled in a big one.
