Timberwolves win 2015 draft lottery, get No. 1 overall pick

"This is a great day for our franchise and our fans. We're excited about the opportunity to have the top pick in the draft for the first time in franchise history," said Flip Saunders, Timberwolves President of Basketball Operations. "The No. 1 pick is a fantastic asset to have as we look to add more talent to our team."

The club entered the lottery with a 25 percent chance of winning the top pick and 64.28 percent chance of landing a top-three selection. The Wolves have never selected higher than second.

Now, the question remains, will they select Karl-Anthony Towns, touted as the clear cut best player in this year's draft, or a sizable 6'5 guard in D'Angelo Russell, or perhaps former Duke star Jahlil Okafor? Or someone else?

Owner Glen Taylor will represent the team in the lottery selection, which will be held at 7 p.m. CT at the New York Hilton Midtown.

The Los Angeles Lakers will select second, the Philadelphia 76ers will select third.
