Timberwolves' Andrew Wiggins named Rookie of the Year

Andrew Wiggins started at the top of his rookie class, and he wrapped up his first season in the NBA on top, too.

Perhaps this was to be expected after being named Western Conference Rookie of the Month 4 times this season, but the NBA named the Timberwolves forward Rookie of the Year on Thursday.

Final votes:

Wiggins: 604
Mirotic: 335
Noel: 141
Payton: 79
Smart: 6
Nurkic: 3
Clarkson: 2

Wiggins led all rookies in scoring with 16.9 points per game, was fourth in steals (1.05) and fifth in rebounding (4.6). He was the only rookie and one of 11 players in the league to start all 82 games this season, and played 2,969 minutes, second to only James Harden, who had 2,981. And some believe Harden deserves to win MVP. And here's Wiggins blocking Harden off the backboard back in November.
