The Timberwolves were looking for their first win of the season in their home opener on Tuesday and they got it. Wolves beat the Memphis Grizzlies 116-80.

Zach LaVine scored 31 points and hit five 3-pointers.

Gorgui Dieng and Andrew Wiggins both scored 17 points. On Monday, Dieng signed a four-year, $64 million contract extension.

Rookie Kris Dunn had 10 points, six assists and five steals. Dunn started in place of injured Ricky Rubio.

For the third time in franchise history the Wolves started four players age 22 or younger, Kris Dunn, Zach LaVine, Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins.

The other two times were back-to-back games in 2007 with Corey Brewer, Al Jefferson, Chris Richard and Sebastian Telfair.

The Timberwolves play the Denver Nuggets on Thursday at the Target Center.
