Big batch of extensions, raises for Gophers coaches
MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) - University of Minnesota interim athletics director Beth Goetz has had a busy pen, finalizing contract extensions with several Gophers coaches.
Women's basketball coach Marlene Stollings and softball coach Jessica Allister both received extensions and salary raises that will kick in over the next 2 seasons. Men’s basketball coach Richard Pitino finalized a 2-year extension and another $400,000 pay raise that keeps Pitino with the Gophers through 2021. Under terms of the new contract, the buyout for Pitino goes up to $1.5 million through 2016 then falls to $500,000 in 2018.
Earlier this month, Gophers football coach Jerry Kill got an extension and a $300,000 raise.
