Symone Woolridge
There is something about the "M" cities and states that keep calling Symone’s name!
From Tupelo, Mississippi, to Memphis, Tennessee, to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and now Minneapolis, Minnesota — if she could play "M" in the lottery, she would.
It has been a rewarding ride in each city.
Symone has so many relationships with people she has met along the way. Having conversations with new people is something she really enjoys. And keeping that connection is so important to her. She is the type of person to stand in the grocery store aisle and chat for 15 minutes about anything. So, it’s no surprise that community-driven stories are her favorite.
She always says, "every person has a story to tell" and it’s important to shine a light on the positive stories all around us.
Symone grew up in Evanston and Gurnee, Illinois, and graduated from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. That’s where she met her partner, a familiar FOX 9 face, Ahmad Hicks. The two share a best friend, their son.
Before they were human parents, they became dog parents to their German Shepherd who they’ve had since college.
Symone enjoys spending time with her family, exploring the outdoors, trying new restaurants and watching basketball. Some classy reality TV shows are also thrown into the "must watch" mix!
Although Symone spent a lot of time visiting the Twin Cities within the last couple of years, there are so many places she can’t wait to explore. If you have any story ideas, recommendations, or you just want to say hi — feel free to do so! She would love to hear from y’all.
After living in the south for several years, "y’all" is a word she uses quite often. Don’t be surprised if you hear it on the air.
