Young child dies in apparent drowning in Maple Grove, Minn.

MAPLE GROVE, Minn. (KMSP) - A young child has died after he was found unconscious in a pool Sunday morning at the 7300 block of Orchid Lane in Maple Grove, Minnesota.

Police responded to the call around 9 a.m., and when they arrived, first responders began medical care. The child was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Hennepin County sheriff's office is investigating.
