Woman killed, 1 injured in rollover on I-35W in Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) - The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating a deadly crash on Interstate 35W in Minneapolis that left at least one person dead overnight. 

According to State Patrol, an SUV was traveling southbound on I-35W near the Highway 55 interchange shortly before 2:30 a.m. when the driver lost control and hit the guardrail, causing the vehicle to roll. 

The 29-year-old driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The passenger, a 29-year-old Minneapolis woman, was taken to the Hennepin County Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. 

The crash remains under investigation.
