Wisconsin ER patient says he was shot in Minnesota

HINCKLEY, Minn. (KMSP) - A man being treated for a gunshot wound to the leg at an emergency room in Wisconsin said he was shot in Minnesota. Investigators believe the victim may be connected to a report of shots fired in Hinckley, Minnesota earlier that evening.
At 12:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 17, Pine County, Minnesota deputies were dispatched to the 400 block of 1st Street SW in Hinckley on a report of shots fired, but deputies couldn’t find anyone who had been shot.
At 03:15 a.m., Burnett Medical Center in Grantsburg, Wisconsin called to report a person in the emergency room with a gunshot wound to the leg. A deputy responded to speak with the victim, who said he was shot in Minnesota but had no further information.
The victim, identified only as a 25-year-old man, was later transported to a hospital in the Twin Cities. Investigators met with the victim for follow up and believe he was in the area of the shots fired complaint in Hinckley, but no other details or suspect information is known at this time.
