The Ramsey County medical examiner has identified the body of a man found Tuesday in a vacant home in Paynesville, Minn. as that of wanted fugitive Ryan Clover. The preliminary autopsy found Clover took his own life.

Clover, 28, sexually assaulted a young woman in 2008 and had since failed to register as a sex offender -- a felony offense that had him on the run for a month. The search for Clover had centered on the Paynesville area for the better part of a week after multiple sightings and an altercation with police.

On Sept. 8, Paynesville police received a report of an unknown death at an unoccupied home on the 400 block of W. Mill Street. A property inspection company representative had entered the vacant home to conduct a monthly inspection and found Clover’s body.
