Twin Cities sees unseasonably warm November day
BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (KMSP) - The Twin Cities metro area enjoyed an unseasonably warm November day, with temperatures hitting the 60s and Minnesotans made sure to take advantage.
For Tom Sampson, time practicing his swing on the putting green at Braemar Golf Course in Edina is time well spent.
“Anytime I'm at the golf course it's great,” he said.
And doing it on a 60-degree day in late November? He says it’s a bonus.
“Call it global warming call it whatever you want, call it climate change, we've been blessed,” said Sampson.
The warm weather gave a “spring snow” feel to the Hyland Hills Ski Area in Bloomington, where Brody Sanderson donned a Hawaiian t-shirt to ride the rails and bust his best moves.
“It feels like summer and spring, so you kind of gotta bring that to Hyland because it feels like it and the snow is nice and soft,” said Sanderson.
While the warm temperatures aren’t exactly typical for the Minnesota holidays, families still went looking for a piece of Christmas cheer. The Werth family couldn't resist the fresh pines, hot cocoa and free popcorn at B & J Evergreen in Richfield.
“It's crazy the winters seem to get warmer and warmer,” said Brandon Werth.
The warmth won’t hang around too long. The temperatures will dip back down to the 40s for the rest of the week.
