Timberwolves excercise team options on Towns, Jones

The Minnesota Timberwolves announced Sunday they had exercised the team options on Karl-Anothony Towns and Tyus Jones.

In an expected move, the Wolves will keep both 21-year-olds under contract for their fourth year.

Towns, the 7' 0'' center was 12th in the NBA in scoring last year while setting a franchise scoring record with 2061 points.

Apple Valley native Tyus Jones averaged 3.5 points per game in 60 games last year.

The move comes after the Timberwolves locked in Andrew Wiggins with a multi-year contract extension that will keep him here through the 2022-2023 season.
