Storm drops hail in St. Cloud area, north Twin Cities metro

A storm that moved through Stearns County dropped hail, reportedly ranging in size from golf balls to even tennis balls, near St. Cloud.

The hail fell around 5:30 p.m. Friday evening in St. Cloud and Sauk Rapids. Viewers shared photos of handfuls of hail.

As the storm moved east, viewers reported hail falling in parts of the north Twin Cities metro, such as Blaine and Coon Rapids. There, the hail sizes appeared to range from about quarter to golf ball-sized hail.
