Second Nature recalls nut mix packages over allergy concerns

Second Nature Brands issued a recall on one of its varieties of nut mixes over the weekend because they may contain undeclared ingredients.

The recall, which was posted on the FDA website on Sunday, affects certain 10-ounce packages of the company’s Keto Crunch Smart Mix, which were sold online and in stores nationwide.
It was issued after the company discovered that the packaging for the Smart Mix, which contains cashews, pistachios, and cherries, among other ingredients, did not list those potential allergens.

What you can do:
The affected 10-ounce packages bear the UPC 077034013405 and are marked with "Best if used by 2/12/2027" on the back. Bags with other Use By dates are not included in the recall.

Why you should care:
The Madison Heights, Michigan-based company explained anyone who has an allergy or severe sensitivity to tree nuts, including cashews and pistachios, or to cherries, may be at risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions by eating the product.
