Luis Chacon-Villeda, 19, has been charged with the possession and sale of marijuana. He was arrested after police responded to a report of a shooting and found him giving CPR to a woman with gunshot wounds.

St. Paul police say the woman who was shot dead Friday evening was pregnant and her unborn child did not survive.

At 5:45 p.m., officers responded to the 1900 block of Cottage Avenue East on a report of a woman shot in the head. When they arrived, they found Luis Chacon-Villeda, 19, in a bedroom performing CPR on the victim, according to a criminal complaint. The victim, identified as Eileen Viveros-Vargas, 18, of Landfall, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Viveros-Vargas' mother told Fox 9 her daughter was four months pregnant and was expecting a boy. She said her daughter and Chacon-Villeda had been together for about three years.

Chacon-Villeda was arrested in connection to the shooting. He was charged Monday with a selling a small amount of marijuana.

While responding to the shooting, officers saw marijuana in plain view in the bedroom, the charges say. Police obtained a search warrant and found more marijuana, a scale, more than $2,101 in cash and a .22 caliber handgun.

In an interview with police, Chacon-Villeda admitted the marijuana was his. He said he sells it in the neighborhood.

Police are still investigating Chacon-Villeda in connection with Viveros-Vargas' death.
