St. Paul police have identified the victim on Monday afternoon’s deadly shooting near St. Albans Street North and Fuller Avenue as 25-year-old Quantrell Dunn.

Police responded to the shooting around 2:30 p.m. Monday and found Dunn lying on the sidewalk. He was later pronounced dead at Regions Hospital. Police said the St. Albans and Fuller shooting was not related to the shooting at the Dale Street light rail station, which happened just hours later a couple blocks away.

Metro Transit Police are investigating the light rail station shooting, which sent one person to the hospital. According to a spokesman, police received reports of shots fired at the platform around 4:30 p.m. Emergency crews took one person in unknown condition to Regions Hospital.

Metro Transit shut down the light rail between the Green Line's Hamline and Western stations as the shooting was investigated.

A spokesman for St. Paul police says officers have seen "an uptick" in shots fired reports in St. Paul recently.
