Police chase and crash knocks out power in St. Paul

A late night police chase in St. Paul ended with a crash near the intersection of Lexington Avenue and Thomas Avenue. 

The fleeing suspect was driving west on Thomas Avenue at about 10 p.m. when they broadsided a car at the intersection of Lexington Avenue. The innocent driver involved in the crash suffered minor injuries.

The suspect’s car hit a massive wooden post, knocking down the power lines and cutting power to at least 19 customers. Power was restored by 6:30 a.m.

One person has been arrested. St. Paul police said the officer involved in a foot chase to make the arrest suffered minor injuries.
