Once a hot ticket, Adele prices drop ahead of St. Paul show

ST. PAUL, Minn. (KMSP) - Adele fans that waited until the last minute to purchase tickets may have beaten the scalpers at their own game.

An hour before show time, storms rolled into St. Paul, Minn., putting a damper on sales outside the Xcel Energy Center.

Adele’s U.S. tour sold out in minutes this past December, with tickets showing up on resale sites almost immediately for double, triple and even quadruple face value.

Co-owner of Ticket King, Mike Nowakowski, said Tuesday that his noticed a drop in the Adele ticket market over the last two to three weeks.

“It went from almost embarrassing prices to what I would call above average prices –that’s what we’re seeing today,” Nowakowski said.

Nowakowski says at the peak, the best seats were reselling for $1,300 to $1,400 dollars a ticket, and today those same tickets are going for closer to $500.

“I actually think it’s pretty affordable now,” he said, adding that on Tuesday you could get a “pretty good” seat for $250.

Nowakowski did warn that ticket prices may increase again Wednesday for the second St. Paul show, after those attending Tuesday’s show come out with their reviews and hype.
