Minnesota man indicted for alleged weapons stockpile

A Willmar, Minn., man was charged in federal court for holding a weapons stockpile including nearly a dozen machine guns, pipe bombs and firearm silencers, according to an indictment filed last week.

Prosecutors allege 46-year-old Chad Lee Monson had removed the serial numbers on at least two of the 10 guns police found in a raid of his home. He is also facing criminal charges in the state of Minnesota.

Five others were arrested during the June 30 raid of his home by drug and gang task force agents.

Monson is scheduled for a detention hearing in U.S. District Court Friday.
