Man shot by Edina police now in 'serious but stable' condition

A man shot by Edina police was listed in "serious but stable" condition on Sunday after initially being brought to Hennepin County Medical Center in critical condition.

Edina police responded to a welfare check on the 7500 block of Cahill Road at 10:14 a.m. Saturday, the man showed a gun, and two police officers fired in response.

The identities of the suspect and officers have not been released and both officers were placed on standard administrative leave.The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the incident.
