What we know:
President Trump issued sweeping pardons on Monday for nearly all Jan. 6 defendants as part of his very first actions in office for his second term.
The order released more than 1,500 defendants from their cases. The most prominent of the pardons were former Proud Boys chairman Enrique Tarrio, who faced a 22-year sentence for seditious conspiracy, and Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes.
