Gov. Dayton and Lt. Gov. Smith kick off pheasant hunting season
(KMSP) - Governor Mark Dayton and Lt. Governor Tina Smith donned their best blaze orange for the Seventh Annual Governor's Pheasant Hunting Opener.
Saturday morning, Dayton and Smith led hunting parties in Marshall to kick off the season opener. They were joined by DNR Commissioner Tom Landwehr, tourism leaders and community members.
Unfortunately, they didn't have much luck on their hunt and didn't bring home a bird. However, 153 hunters harvested 28 roosters during morning outing.
Next year, the Governor's Pheasant Hunting Opener will be hosted in Luverne.
