Elk River community says goodbye to police officer dad, son

The Elk River community came to say goodbye and honor Officer Todd Besser and his 27-year-old son Blake Besser at a funeral service at Elk River High School on Sunday. 

Officer Besser's son, 21-year-old Christopher Besser, allegedly told a 911 dispatcher he "lost it" when he shot and killed his father and brother last weekend in their St. Michael home. Chris Besser was charged Tuesday morning in Wright County with two counts of second-degree murder.

Following the funeral, a law enforcement procession with family, officers and community members went to Orono Cemetery in Elk River for a burial service for Officer Besser. Blake will be laid to rest on Monday.
